Methodology guide
Crypto Mood IndexX combines three global crypto-market inputs into a 0-100 market-condition score.
What it measures: Measures BTC/USD completed daily closes versus 20-, 50- and 200-day moving averages plus Wilder RSI(14).
How to read it: Higher scores generally indicate stronger Bitcoin trend support; lower scores indicate weaker trend conditions.
Limitation: Extremely overbought RSI alone cannot produce a maximum score.
Weight in total score: 35%
What it measures: Measures eligible top-100 assets with positive provider-supplied 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day returns from the same market snapshot.
How to read it: Higher scores indicate broader crypto participation; lower scores indicate narrower participation.
Limitation: Valid breadth requires sufficient eligible-universe coverage, and stablecoins, wrapped duplicates and obvious synthetic representations are excluded.
Weight in total score: 40%
What it measures: Measures annualised realised BTC volatility from completed BTC/USD daily returns, compared with a trailing percentile and reversed.
How to read it: Higher scores indicate calmer volatility conditions; lower scores indicate unusually high volatility.
Limitation: Crypto trades continuously and liquidity can fragment across venues.
Weight in total score: 25%
The score uses validated BTC Momentum, eligible Top-100 Breadth and BTC Volatility inputs when available. Crypto assets are highly volatile and this is not investment advice.
The prepared pipeline is designed to collect essential market snapshots hourly and create one immutable v1.0 daily score snapshot at 00:00 UTC after approval.
